Avista Converting Overhead Line to Underground in Idaho

About 98 Avista customers in Avery, Idaho, will experience a power outage on Nov. 12, as Avista crews convert a 1.3-mile stretch of existing overhead power line to a new underground system.

Lamont Miles, Avista’s district manager for St. Maries, said the company is investing more than $100,000 in the new underground system to reduce weather and tree-related outages in the area.

“There have been several power outages this summer in Avery as crews have worked to upgrade aging equipment and convert to new underground systems. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank our customers for their patience,” Miles said.
