Jordan's NEPCO Renews Transmission Agreement with Egyptian Company
NEPCO in Jordan has signed an agreement to renew the contract for the exchange of electric power in 2010 with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Co. Ahmed Hiyasat, director-general of NEPCO, and Hassan Al-Jaber Najem, Egyptian's chairman of the board, signed the convention.
Hiyasat said that the two sides have agreed to renew the exchange of power for the year 2010. Jordan will purchase around 150 GWh from the Egyptian side in 2010, while NEPCO will also have the opportunity to export electric energy to the Egyptian side.
The two companies will exchange visits periodically to learn the operation of electrical systems on both sides as well as to exchange experiences with technical problems faced by each.
