Singapore: Power Transmission Network Gets a Boost

Comergy Ltd., a subsidiary of Pirelli Energy Cables and Systems, has been chosen by the Singaporean power utility SP PowerAssets Ltd. to supply and install 400-kV PPL oil-filled power cables, auxiliary cables and accessories, which will be used to reinforce the power transmission network within the country. Under the contract, worth some 25 million euros, Comergy will supply and install the 400-kV cables for SP PowerAssets Ltd. to help strengthen the network in the southwest areas of the city-state. The project includes cables installation within an undersea tunnel. Comergy has been awarded a separate contract by SP Power Assets Ltd. to construct this tunnel.
