AFL has pledged $1 million to Samaritan's Purse to aid in hurricane restoration and rebuilding efforts following the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene on South Carolina and Western North Carolina. The donation aims to provide immediate and long-term support to the communities most affected by the storm.
Samaritan's Purse, a disaster relief organization actively working on the ground, will use the funds to deliver essential supplies and support rebuilding initiatives.
Beyond the corporate donation, AFL employees and agents raised $60,000 for Samaritan's Purse and the American Red Cross. AFL has pledged to match these contributions dollar-for-dollar, doubling the impact of the community’s generosity.
In addition, AFL’s manufacturing and product teams have played a critical role in supporting electric utility companies by supplying conductor hardware and cable needed to restore the region's electric grid.
Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse, expressed gratitude for AFL’s support: “We are deeply thankful for AFL’s generous contribution, which helps us provide vital supplies like heaters, generators, solar lights, blankets, food, and water to those who have lost so much due to Hurricane Helene.”
