Severe thunderstorms, strong winds up to 70 mph, hail, and heavy rain caused widespread outages and extensive damage to the Entergy Texas service area on June 10. Crews made significant progress the next day, restoring power to 71% of customers within 24 hours of the storm’s initial impact.
At the peak of the storm, 54,000 customers were out of power. More than 50 crews conducted damage assessments and began to restore power. Multiple trees, wire and poles were down in Entergy's service territory and crossarms and transformers were damaged following the storms. Line crews worked alongside vegetation management crews to clear debris.
Entergy Texas also deployed its new mobile command center to the Beaumont, Texas, area. The vehicle functioned as a field command center, providing an immediate communications platform during the ongoing restoration efforts. For more information, visit the website.
