GHG mitigation and adaptation technologies include energy-efficiency programs, demand-side energy management (building/home) programs, energy storage and the integration of renewable generation resources (solar/wind). It is important for power grid operators and planners to understand the costs and benefits for adapting those technologies.
The goal of this panel at the 2016 IEEE PES T&D Conference & Expo is to bring together experts conducting cost-benefit studies at utilities, consulting companies and research institutes to present methods and results, as well as tools developed for conducting such studies
Special focuses include: methods for quantifying the benefit and impact; tools developed for conducting cost benefit studies and; results of cost benefit studies on major smart grid technologies.
