Eltel Finland has signed a contract with Finnish national electricity transmission grid operator Fingrid to construct a 74-km long transmission line. The contract is valued at about €23 million (about $24.1 million U.S., at current exchange rates).
The new transmission line, operating at 400+110 kV, will run in the mid-Eastern region of Finland, bolstering the energy efficiency and capacity of the transmission grid as the country transitions to renewable energy sources.
Scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2023, the project is set to conclude by the end of 2026. This initiative is a crucial component of Fingrid’s Järvilinja (Lake Line) and represents another substantial segment that Eltel will undertake.
Eltel had previously secured a €19 million agreement in July 2023, bringing the combined value of their Lake Line projects to €42 million.
Headquartered in Sweden, Eltel is a service provider for critical infrastructure that enables renewable energy and high-performing communication networks.
