The Grid Deployment Office, the Utility Industry, and $18 Billion in Financing Tools Aimed at Improving America’s Power Grid

The Grid Deployment Office (GDO) works to ensure resource adequacy by maintaining and investing in critical generation facilities and ensure all communities have access to reliable electricity by strengthening and modernizing our nation’s transmission and distribution system. GDO also sponsors the “Building a Better Grid” Initiative, which supports the deployment of nationally significant transmission projects and grid upgrades that are critical to achieving the clean electricity and zero-emission economy goals set by the Biden Administration.
