Great Falls, Montana – July 26, 2010 – GeoNav Group International, Inc., a GIS company that specializes in geospatial technology solutions for utilities and government, has announced a strategic business partnership that will allow Davey Resource Group to utilize GeoNav's nVIEW 360 mobile mapping services to collect client data in the field.

Davey Resource Group, the consulting division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, provides field inventory services to a wide variety of clients. To best and most accurately serve their clients, Davey Resource Group selected GeoNav's nVIEW 360 to add to their collection offerings.

Tommy Maloney, Market Manager and Project Developer for Davey Resource Group, called the collaboration a win-win. “We believe that tapping into GeoNav's mapping capabilities complements our field mapping services and enhances potential benefits to our clients.”

Jason Hooten, National Sales Manager of GeoNav, said, “We are excited to team with Davey Resource Group to provide nVIEW 360 to utilities for data collection and enhanced GIS. We believe this new partnership will leverage each company's strengths to better serve our clients with more efficient services and more complete asset data than ever before available.”

nVIEW 360 uses spherical video, high resolution cameras, and LiDAR (light detection and ranging) sensors mounted on the capture vehicle to perform a 360° scan of the horizon capturing video and LiDAR data. This collected data produces a 3-D picture and first-person view of the customer's assets from that data to be used in the GIS. With nVIEW 360 collected data, Davey Resource Group will be able to capture digital images, positional data, attributes about facilities, pole attachments, and vegetation information at the same time and from multiple vantage points.
