EnerSys will exhibit an expanded range of energy storage systems and services at DISTRIBUTECH International in Booth #900. The DISTRIBUTECH event will be January 28 to 30 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The EnerSys booth will highlight a range of products and services that include energy storage systems, Alpha industrial Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and power conversion/conditioning systems, and components from the recently acquired NorthStar Battery Company and from the Alpha Technologies Group of companies (the Alpha Group), which was acquired late in 2018.
“The acquisition of the Alpha Group and NorthStar Battery Company has expanded the selection of energy storage systems, production capacity for Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) batteries, and service and consulting capabilities,” said George Brendahl, Utilities Marketing Manager at EnerSys. “Among the services we have enhanced are engineering, design, construction, installation and commissioning of projects, regardless of size, as well as preventative maintenance, repair and refurbishment of equipment. EnerSys also offers financing, logistics and recycling services, as well as our OptiGrid™ Stored Energy Solutions for integrating battery systems with power grids.”
Included in the EnerSys exhibit will be the following products:
- Alpha MODUPS Series UPS are designed specifically to be AC backup power sources for critical AC loads. They are continuous-duty, single- or three-phase input and one-phase output, double-conversion, solid-state UPS. Among their features are a CORDEX switched-mode battery charger and rectifier, as well as a Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) inverter with built-in modular static switch and internal AC-DC rectifier.
- Alpha ACS Wall-Mount Series 125VDC Switched-Mode Chargers are designed to charge all types of stationary batteries, including flooded lead acid, Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) and Nickel Cadmium (NiCd), for utility and other industrial applications. Featuring modular switched-mode charger technology, ACS Wall-Mount Series chargers accommodate up to six hot-swappable Cordex™ L1kW power rectifier modules for N+1 redundancy capability.
- NorthStar NSB 210FT BLUE+ Battery products apply carbon technology for high cycle capacity and Partial State of Charge (PSOC) performance. Among their features are special plastic components for operation in a temperature range of -40°F to 149°F (-40°C to 65°C) and a 10-hour capacity of 200 amp hours.
- EnerSys PowerSafe VGL 225 Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cd) batteries offer Ni-Cd chemistry that provides a service life of more than 20 years and, in combination with pocket plate design and valve-regulated technology, low maintenance. Their nominal capacity is 225 amp hours.
- EnerSys PowerSafe 4 OPzS 200 and 24 OPzV 3000 batteries will also be on display. PowerSafe 4 OPzS 200 batteries feature die-cast tubular plates with low antimony content for excellent cycling capabilities and a nominal capacity of 217 amp hours. PowerSafe® 24 OPzV 3000 batteries feature pasted negative flat plates, in addition to die-cast tubular plates, for maximum performance, and a nominal capacity of 3,170 amp hours.
- EnerSys PowerSafe SBS batteries feature advanced TPPL technology for greater power density, longer service life and resistance to corrosion. PowerSafe SBS 30 top terminal batteries resist elevated temperatures and harsh environments and offer a 10-hour capacity of 26 amp hours; PowerSafe SBS 190F front terminal batteries deliver exceptional cyclic performance under the hottest and harshest conditions with a 10-hour capacity of 190 amp hours; and PowerSafe SBS 580 2 Volt batteries, a bank of which will be displayed in a PowerSafe® SBS 320 rack, offer TPPL technology for off-grid energy storage applications and a 10-hour capacity of 580 amp hours.
- EnerSys PowerSafe 2ESG-05 batteries are made with flat lead-calcium plates for longer service life under complex duty cycles. They offer a capacity of 187 amp hours to handle challenging load profiles and service conditions.
