We cannot make significant strides in reducing catastrophic wildland fire in and around utility Rights-of-Way unless we understand the risk. The approach to mitigating potential impact at APS is a combination of elements but understanding the data and developing a model to prioritize resources is the foundation. APS Wildfire Risk Index Assessment Analysis was developed to create an informed decision framework to identify and determine potential mitigation plans and programs to address the wildfire threat to APS. This presentation will include discussion on the development of the model used to identify risk and used to make data-based decisions.
