AREVA’s Transmission and Distribution division (T&D) in Australia has recently won orders worth approximately €140 million from the Gorgon Project operated by Chevron Australia Pty Ltd.
The scope of AREVA T&D’s orders covers containerized substations for the project’s electrical system, including 132-kV gas-insulated substations (GIS), medium voltage switchgear, low voltage switchgear and motor control centers, a range of power and distribution transformers and other equipment such as medium voltage GIS and ring main units.
The Gorgon Project is operated by the Australian subsidiary of Chevron (approximately 47 percent) in joint venture with the Australian subsidiaries of ExxonMobil (25 percent) and Shell (25 percent), Osaka Gas (1.25 percent), Tokyo Gas (one percent) and Chubu Electric (0.417 percent).
