PECO Invests $7 Million in Electric Transmission Project to Benefit Delaware County Customers

As part of PECO’s efforts to provide safe and reliable electric service, the company recently completed a $7 million substation improvement project in Delaware County. The project included the installation of a 138-kV capacitor bank and related equipment to reinforce the local electric transmission system.

PECO’s electric transmission system provides high voltage electricity to electric distribution substations throughout the region. Electric distribution substations convert high voltage electricity from transmission lines into lower voltages for delivery to homes and businesses.

PECO invests hundreds of millions of dollars in infrastructure improvement projects on an annual basis to ensure continued electric service reliability for customers throughout the service territory.
