Nick "Check Stub" Cummins, superintendent for IB Abel, Inc., shares his story about his life in the line trade during this episode of the Line Life Podcast.
He has spent the last 20 years in the line trade and is the son of a lineworker, David "Check Check" Cummins, who retired after 42 years in the industry. Nick shares his earliest memories of watching his father work out on the job and how his dad's career inspired him to follow in his footsteps.
Nick also shares his memories of restoring power on Christmas Eve in New Hampshire, when he and his crews were able to turn the lights back on just in time for holiday celebrations. He also discusses how he first got into a leadership position as a foreman and how he continues to serve as a leader in his job as a superintendent.
