Landis+Gyr has signed agreements with three utilities to provide Gridstream Meter Data Management System (MDMS) software in a cloud-based, software-as-a-service model.
Beauregard Electric Cooperative, The Victory Electric Cooperative Association, and Columbus Light & Water agreed to service contracts for Gridstream MDMS that deliver anytime, anywhere access to data from a secure, hosted environment. These customers join a rapidly growing installed base of over 57 million licensed endpoints currently being managed by Gridstream MDMS at utilities worldwide.
"For utilities looking to extend meter data management beyond the head-end system without the additional IT burden, a hosted MDMS makes perfect business and operational sense," said Dave Connaker, General Manager of MDMS at Landis+Gyr. "The lower initial costs and built-in support add value for utilities of any size."
Gridstream MDMS automates the movement of validated meter data between utility systems and advanced metering head-end systems. Beyond standard integrations, the MDMS offers the ability to add a consumer portal application and outage management analytics.
Landis+Gyr has a long history of hosting metering data and application software and providing data management services. The company currently hosts data and network management software for 235 utility customers.
