Arbor Day Foundation Celebrates #ArborDayatHome for 2020
April 28, 2020
The association encouraged its social media followers to support its initiative to plant trees in the national forest for National Arbor Day 2020.
Each year, communities nationwide celebrate the preservation and planting of trees on Arbor Day. For 2020, with the social distancing measures and stay-at-home orders in some parts of the country, Americans still honored the day, but in different ways.
For example, the National Arbor Day Foundation offered to plant a tree in one of the nation's forests for each photo of a tree posted to social media with the hashtag #ArborDayatHome. SalesForce opted to double the number of trees for each photo posted to help the association reach its goal of planting 100,000 trees for Arbor Day 2020.
"While we may not be celebrating as we did last year, the spirit of the tree planter’s holiday remains strong," the Arbor Day Foundation stated on Instagram. "Let’s all take a moment to celebrate trees in our own way!"
