Fecon will feature the redesigned, and re-powered FTX150-2 Mulching Tractor that delivers cutting and track power in Lot E, booth #617 of The Utility Expo.
A Cummins 3.8L Tier 4, Stage V engine delivers 10% more HP, with a dedicated hydraulic circuit providing 60 GPM to the mounted attachment. This upgraded forestry tractor also features high-strength steel construction for greater durability, a more open engine compartment with large doors for ease of service and a cooling system designed specifically for mulching. The spacious cab includes more operator visibility, and a 7-in. touchscreen IQAN display. The purpose-built Fecon FTX150-2 Mulching Tractor is available with a BH85SD with FGT or DCR rotor, or a BLACKHAWK® 7620 pin-on mulching head so that it can be adapted to best serve specific forestry mulching applications, like large scale right of way maintenance, vegetation management, lot clearing, fire fuel reduction and other land management projects.
With a Tier 4, Stage V engine that delivers 155 peak HP, the FTX150-2 has plenty of power to tackle the toughest forestry mulching projects, yet with Fecon Green biodegradable fluid it is suitable for working in sensitive locations.
Loader arms provide increased lift and range of motion, giving the operator more finite control over the mulching head, which leads to increased productivity. Extended reach of over 11 ft to tackle standing vegetation and trim tree lines, while below grade of 32 in. allows efficient ditch work. The FTX150-2 has 21 in. of ground clearance and a D3 undercarriage designed for the toughest mulching applications, yielding longer track life with less downtime.
Power When and Where Needed
The Fecon Power Management system automatically monitors the carriers hydraulic circuits and allows engine horsepower to be routed to where it is needed most. This optimizes machine performance, allowing the FTX150-2 to mulch uphill while maintaining control over both the loader arms and the track system. Fecon Power Management optimizes both recovery and staying power of the mulching head. Track circuit is prioritized to keep the machine mobile and maintains engine power for maximum production in all types of mulching conditions.
Advanced Technology
A 7-in. touchscreen IQAN controller allows operators to control all machine functions with ease, including integrated time clocks, and a high flow counter to better determine operating hours on the cutting head. IQAN allows remote connectivity through a smartphone app so that the machine can be accessed for remote troubleshooting from anywhere. Programable timers in the IQAN display give owners/operators the ability to track key metrics like job hours and tool life to better understand machine utilization. On-board troubleshooting via the Smart Fuse Box and CAN Bus system allow quick and easy diagnostics of machine to get operators working again quickly.
Serviceability
The FTX150-2 is designed for ease of serviceability, getting the machine back into production with minimal downtime. Large engine bay doors and an open engine bay provide easy access to all maintenance items. All filters and service points can be reached from the ground, simplifying in-field service. With the pump at the rear of the machine, there is easy access for troubleshooting - no need to lift the cab to service the pumps.
Purpose built for durability in demanding applications, the FTX150-2 features a cooling system designed specifically for mulching applications. The larger cooler compensates for a higher duty cycle, while wider fins prevent clogging, and reversing fans automatically clear dust and debris from cooling system.
The larger cab features keyless operation, and automatic climate control to keep operators comfortable and productive despite extreme environments.
The FTX150-2 is designed for safety as well as production, with pin on attachments for safety and durability. A standard rear-view camera and increased cab visibility allow operators virtually increased visibility.
The FTX150-2 has the power to complete the toughest forestry mulching projects yet is nimble in the field. A video demonstration of the FTX150-2 may be viewed at https://bit.ly/3vqw3NB.
