Wright Tree Service (WTS), an employee-owned company specializing in utility vegetation management, is celebrating 90 years in business this year.
The WTS story started during the Great Depression when John L. and Harriet Wright founded WTS in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1933. At that time, John operated the tools and Harriet managed the bookkeeping. Today, WTS is one of the largest vegetation management companies in North America.
“I have seen and experienced a lot of changes during my 36 years with WTS. With nearly 6,000 employees working in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, I often wonder what John L. Wright would think of WTS now,” said President Wade Myers. “I feel he would be proud of what he started and the family of employees that are working for WTS today.”
Throughout 2023, WTS plans to celebrate clients, employees, and the industry.
“I can’t thank our employees enough for what they have done over the last 90 years,” added Myers. “By doing our daily tasks safely and efficiently, WTS will continue to grow. Our goal every day is making a positive impact on the communities we serve. That is something we can all be proud of.”
