Carl Tamm is the President of Classic Connectors, Inc. Specializing in Component Design Engineering, and Applications of Utility Class Connectors, Carl is a 30-year veteran in the electrical industry. He is presently credited with 20 U.S. Patents, numerous foreign patents, and has several pending. He is the author of several published papers on high power electrical connectors and a regular contributing author to CCI’s monthly newsletter. Carl is a voting member of Cigre’ US National Committee, the IEEE-PES TP&C Committees, the ANSI C119 committees and former Chair of the ANSI C119.7 Committee, developing the Standard for High Temperature Connectors for use on Bare Conductors Operating Above 93°C. Carl’s extensive forensic analysis of hundreds of failed connectors has made him a leading authority and subject matter expert for connector failure causes on overhead power lines.
