Elster Electricity LLC announces an agreement with Hunt Technologies to continue offering the Hunt AirPoint AMR module for the Elster Type AB1R electromechanical meter. This provides more choices for utilities that use the Itron Mobile Collection System for mobile meter reading.

The AirPoint is fully compatible with Itron mobile collection technology, handheld collection devices and software platforms. Customers can order the Type AB1R meter equipped with an AirPoint module or they can retrofit the meter themselves.

"With the recent Itron announcement that indicated the discontinuation of the 41 Series ERT module, we felt it was important to continue offering utilities more choices for electromechanical meters," said Corey McGuire, product manager at Hunt Technologies. "We will continue to build a fully compatible AirPoint module as long as there is sufficient demand for the product."

"We are proud to be a customer-focused organization," said Jim Cunningham, marketing manager at Elster Electricity. "It was only logical for us to continue working with Hunt to provide users of the 41-Series ERT module with the option of using the long-lasting, highly reliable electromechanical meter."

The single-phase Type AB1R electromechanical meter is equipped with an AMR module installed under-the-cover of the meter. It supports multiple AMR systems and meets or exceeds the ANSI standards for electricity metering.

Hunt Technologies manufactures standard and high-power RF modules for solid-state and electromechanical meters that meet and, in some cases, exceed the technical specifications for the Itron ERT.
