PSE&G Prepares for Back-to-Back Winter Storms

Feb. 7, 2025
The utility plans to work safely and quickly to restore any potential power outages.

PSE&G is prepared for the winter weather, which produced freezing rain and light snow on Feb. 6, and with more snow expected this weekend and again next week. Because snow and ice can bring hazards that disrupt power, the utility is ready to respond to all potential power outages and handle increased requests to repair heating systems for its customers.

The utility encouraged customers to take the time to prepare ahead of a weather event by knowing how to report an outage before it happens and how to stay safe and connected to PSE&G during winter weather.

“The safety of our customers and crews is a top priority and we’re monitoring the weather systems closely,” said Dave Johnson, senior vice president and chief customer experience officer, PSE&G. “We are ready to respond as weather conditions permit. Our crews will work 24x7 to restore service as safely and as quickly as possible.”

In advance of the cold weather, PSE&G crews performed system and logistics checks to ensure the availability of critical materials, fuel and other supplies. That way, the utility could fulfill its commitment to bring customers safe and reliable service regardless of weather conditions. PSE&G also had additional crews scheduled to support customers requesting repairs to heating systems.
