This technical panel, sponsored by IEEE PES Women in Power, is from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, May 8. It brings together utility experts from across the country to discuss opportunities, challenges and success stories in the power industry’s transition.
Panelists will focus on the key role that the electric grid has to act as an enabler for electrification and decarbonization and how it is challenged by these changes, by climate-change related extreme events and the increasing penetration of distributed energy resources.
This panel will explore the critical intersection of grid modernization and the energy transition including addressing enhancing grid resilience against climate events and cyber threats, scaling capacity to meet demand, renewables integration, and latest concepts through utility use cases and best practices.
