Blae Platforms is launching the T187 HF built by Ruthmann, which is a 187-ft truck-mounted aerial platform designed for high-reach utility, transmission, and infrastructure projects, offering stability and operational flexibility with a 1,300 lb capacity and below-grade reach.

The truck-mounted aerial work platform will support transmission, distribution, and infrastructure projects requiring high reach and stability.

The new model provides a working height of 187 ft (57 m) and horizontal outreach of 133 ft (40.8 m), enabling crews to access transmission lines, towers, and other elevated structures. With a 1,300 lb (590 kg) platform capacity, operators can carry tools and materials at height, while 39 ft (11.5 m) of below-grade reach allows inspection and maintenance work below ground level.

Mounted on a Kenworth T480 chassis and built by Ruthmann, the aerial work platform is designed to be bridge-law legal and ready for field use without special permitting. Its multi-beveled boom profile enhances stability, and the COCKPIT intelligent control system provides real-time feedback for precise movement and positioning. The unit offers 440° turret rotation and 220° platform rotation and meets EN 280 safety standards.

For electric utilities and contractors, the T187 HF offers extended reach and operational flexibility for grid maintenance, high-voltage line access, and renewable infrastructure work. The platform is designed for fast setup, efficient transport between job sites, and reduced downtime.

The T187 HF also integrates Blade’s proprietary BLADEbox 10K Intensifier, a small, lightweight, custom-built unit that hangs in the basket and manages higher pressure and flow rates. Its integrated controls engage tool circuits automatically, providing fast-functioning closing and release for efficient, precise operations in the field.

The introduction of the platform expands Blade Platforms’ lineup of high-reach truck-mounted aerial work platforms ranging from 93 ft to 336 ft. The company provides operated and bare rental options across North America. Demonstration units for the platform are now available for scheduling.
