Automation company Itron debuted its Itron Enterprise Edition (IEE) Cloud, a cloud-based meter data management (MDM) platform developed to meet the needs of electric utilities.
IEE Cloud, which is available on Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms, lowers total cost of ownership and eases the utility’s IT burden, according to Itron. The system provides enhanced visibility into operations as well as flexibility for utilities to customize their business processes.
Using IEE Cloud can increase utility companies’ agility by allowing them to easily integrate with new capabilities, such as revenue assurance and transformer load management, according to Itron.
The solution is part of Itron’s Grid Edge Intelligence portfolio.
Utilities can analyze the information through a common data platform, such as Itron’s meter data management solution, and integrate the data into additional solutions like distributed intelligence. As a cloud-exclusive platform, utilities can access this data anywhere there is an internet connection.
