Utility projects backed by GRIP include strengthening transmission lines with steel towers in areas that are heavily wooded and prone to fallen limbs.

Scenes from 2020 DistribuTECH International

Feb. 4, 2020
DistribuTECH 2020 in San Antonio didn't lack for diversity of products or offerings on the show floor.

DistribuTECH 2020 in San Antonio surely didn't lack for diversity of products or offerings on the show floor. We noticed more collaboration among companies to bring utilities "holistic" solutions. And by the way, we heard that term a lot.

We also saw more software and data analytics offerings, mobile workforce management and customer service tools. Municipals and co-ops are being served with companies looking to help them integrate, retrofit and become more digitized.

While two-plus days is hardly enough time to glance at, let alone really engage in, all that was on display, here is what caught our interest at the show.

T&D World will be at DistribuTECH 2020 in San Diego, California, and our reporters will be on the lookout again for all things new and interesting to the electric utility world. Please feel free to engage us at any time during the year with your suggestions on what we should be looking for.
