The model HEG-3000T secondary cable fault locator from Hipotronics incorporates multifunctionality with ease of use in a highly portable package. This system uses Earth Gradient technology to locate faults on an unshielded, insulated cable.
A fault locator and a separate cable tracing unit are not needed. With the HEG-3000T, both functions are incorporated into one unit. This unit saves times with alligator clip connections to cables and an easy-to-read earth gradient detector that quickly shows direction to fault. The HEG-3000T reduces damage to cable to almost nil with its automatic voltage control. This feature allows the unit to operate at only enough voltage to breakdown the fault. This feature not only protects the cable but the operator and appliance circuits as well.
