Exacter Aerial Sensor System Identifies Transmission Line Pre-Fail Signatures
May 4, 2021
The system identifies and GPS marks points where line components or splices are emitting partial discharge.
The Exacter Aerial Assessment Sensor System mounts easily on any helicopter for identification of partial discharge pre-fail signatures on transmission lines.
As the helicopter flies at normal speeds for standard LIDAR, IR, videography or other data acquisition, the Exacter system identifies and GPS marks points where line components or splices are emitting partial discharge (arcing, tracking, or leakage current) — the most prevalent indicator of equipment deterioration that leads to an outage or ignition source for pole and/or wildfires.
These are findings Lidar, IR or visual will not identify. Exacter automatically marks the location and uploads it to the company’s Failure Signature Library where it is reviewed and processed.
Results can be viewed via the Exacter GridTrak data portal or from reports sent from Exacter. Product includes Sensor System, Case, Antenna, mounting brackets and requires an annual data processing subscription of assessment results.
