2023 Trees & Utilities: Live from Pittsburgh

Sept. 19, 2023
The annual event brings utility vegetation management professionals together for networking and education.

The 2023 Trees & Utilities conference celebrated "the power of people" and the connection between vegetation management and electric utilities. The event, which was live in Pittsburgh from Sept. 12-14, reported a record attendance of about 1,000, which included arborists, foresters, field supervisors, researchers and executives.

"It is the right content at the right time, aimed at the right audience," says Dennis Fallon, executive director of the Utility Arborist Association (UAA), which presented the conference with the Arbor Day Foundation. "With the economic times and energy transition, we look at the tremendous amount of work coming at us, and we need to be prepared for it."

The event kicked off with the annual Women in Vegetation Management Workshop followed by three days of networking opportunities, conference sessions and time to explore the trade show floor. Back for 2023, North American Training Solutions presented live competitions in the Skills Arena.

The following photo gallery and video showcase highlights from the event, which took place at the downtown convention center. For more information on next year's event, which will be Sept. 12-14, 2024, in Fort Worth Texas, visit the website.
