The Project needed to cross Little Bay, a tidal estuary, with a 115kV buried submarine cable. Eversource and its teams conducted field tests of the sediments and materials within them. They performed detailed modeling and studies to show how the hydroplow operation would affect turbidity of the water. Supplemental protection of the cables using concrete mattresses were used to avoid excavation in the bay.
